Your first charge
Our Pulsar Max is the single-phase 7.4 kW model, with a fixed 5 m Type 2 cable or a socket and separate cable supplied. After installer commissioning, create a Wallbox account and add your charger. Pair nearby by Bluetooth and connect it to home Wi-Fi for remote app access.
- Select and unlock your charger in the Wallbox app.
- Connect the car; on a socketed unit connect the cable at both ends.
- Check the app for an active session or a waiting schedule.
- Stop charging and follow the car's unlocking procedure before unplugging.
Schedules and charger locking
In the Wallbox app, select the charger, choose Add schedules, and set the days and start/end times for your tariff. Bluetooth works nearby; changing a schedule remotely requires an internet connection. Unlock the charger when plugging in: a locked charger cannot start its scheduled session. Check the vehicle's own schedule and charge limit if it does not start.
Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and meter cabling
Pulsar Max supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Bluetooth connects your phone locally; Wi-Fi enables remote app access. Neither replaces the wired communication link to the energy meter used for load balancing and solar charging. Wallbox specifies suitable Cat5e for that meter link, so Cat6 is not a universal requirement. The installer confirms the meter, cable specification and route; this is not a router Ethernet cable.
Dynamic load management
We include a compatible Wallbox energy meter for dynamic load management. The installer configures it to adjust EV charging as household demand changes. Single-charger dynamic load management can operate alongside solar charging. Static sharing between several chargers is a different feature and does not by itself measure the home's changing load. Leave the supply limit and meter configuration to the installer.
Eco and Full Green solar charging
Solar charging requires a compatible Wallbox meter and installer commissioning. In the app's Energy Features, Eco mixes surplus with grid electricity; Full Green waits for sufficient surplus. Schedules and manual charging can override solar-only operation and draw grid power. This can also discharge a home battery, so its settings need review. Wallbox excludes Renault ZE Ready vehicles from this solar feature. Multi-charger energy-management combinations need a separate compatibility check.
Status lights and charging problems
Green means ready; slowly blinking dark blue means charging; yellow means locked. Turquoise can indicate a scheduled session or waiting for available power, so check the app. White pulsing during a software update is a reason to let the update finish. A red light needs the corresponding app error checked. Stop using the charger if it is damaged, smells burnt or repeatedly trips the supply. Contact ev@volteire.ie with the model, serial number, app error and a photo of the light pattern. Do not open the enclosure or change electrical protection settings.
Cable care and charging speed
Keep connectors clean and dry, store cables clear of vehicle tyres and walking routes, and avoid tight bends or pulling on the cable. Do not use a damaged lead or force a locked connector. Keep the charger exterior clean without pressure washing. Actual charging speed is limited by the car's onboard AC charger, the cable, household capacity, load balancing and battery conditions. A rated output is a maximum, not a fixed full-charge time. Tell us the vehicle model if its AC connection differs from Type 2.
Warranty and support
Your installation is covered by a 2-year Volt Éire workmanship warranty, and the charger unit carries a separate 5-year manufacturer warranty from Wallbox. We handle manufacturer claims for you — one email to ev@volteire.ie covers both. Wallbox's five-year European manufacturer guarantee applies to eligible units purchased from Wallbox from 1 October 2025 and runs from its invoice to the first purchaser. Earlier stock has different terms. Keep your purchase documents; we can check the applicable cover. Manufacturer cover does not automatically include removal, refitting or transport costs.
