How much does EV charger installation cost in Ireland?
Volt Éire's Standard Installation is from €1,599 all-in — charger, materials, Safe Electric registered installation, testing, certification and SEAI grant paperwork. Eligible homeowners receive €300 back from SEAI, so net package prices start from €1,299. Choose your charger and configuration; each has its own fixed package price. Extra electrical work (older fuseboard, missing bonding, complex cable route) is quoted when confirmed. Photos support the scope assessment; the installer also inspects and tests on site. We explain and agree additional work before it proceeds.
How installation works
The process is built around finding issues before install day. Photos do the first pass; a Safe Electric registered electrician handles the electrical work, testing and certification.
Step 2
Grant, payment and scheduling
Check the SEAI approval requirements before eligible expenditure. Once your installation is approved, pay for the order and we arrange your date. We help with the €300 grant application and completed claim.
Step 3
Safe Electric installation
A Safe Electric registered electrician installs a dedicated EV circuit, mounts the charger, tests the installation and provides the required certification.
Step 4
Ready for cheaper home charging
We help you get set up for smart charging so routine charging can happen at home overnight instead of relying on public AC or DC charging.
Who installs your EV charger?
Every Volt Éire installation is completed by a Safe Electric registered electrician — the legally required register for domestic electrical work in Ireland. We coordinate the photo assessment, the SEAI Home Charger Grant paperwork, and the post-install Safe Electric certification you'll need for the grant claim, your insurer and resale.

What the electrician checks
EV chargers add a sustained load to your home's electrics, so the existing setup matters. The photo assessment is designed to spot the homes that are standard, and the homes that need review, before anyone drills a wall or takes payment for extras.
- Dedicated EV circuit and appropriate protection.
- Meter/cut-out, supply capacity and isolation arrangement.
- Earth rod and gas/water safety bonding evidence.
- Cable route, charger position and off-street parking.
Fixed-price when the home is standard
Standard Installation includes your selected smart charger, typical cabling/materials, installation, testing, certification, SEAI paperwork and customer support. If your photos show an older fuseboard, missing bonding, a complex route or another electrical issue, we quote that work before you book.
