EV charging in County Waterford

We install home EV chargers across County Waterford, including Waterford City, Tramore and Dungarvan. Homes with a driveway or private parking space usually suit a standard installation.

Local installer note: On exposed coastal sites the mounting position matters. Show the wall you have in mind in your photos, and the installer will choose a sheltered position where possible.

Where do you park in Waterford?

Your parking decides how a home charger can be installed.

  • A driveway or private space at your home

This is the usual home installation. Send your property details, photos and a short video, and we confirm the price before you pay. If you are eligible, the €300 SEAI grant applies.

  • An apartment, shared car park or assigned bay

These need the management company's agreement and follow a different SEAI route. We can explain the options for your building.

    Apartment and shared parking
  • On-street parking only

The SEAI home charger grant needs off-street parking inside your property boundary, so a grant-funded home charger is not possible. Talk to us before you apply.

What's included — end to end

We submit your SEAI application, monitor the Letter of Offer, manage the 6-month deadline, and guide you through the final declaration after installation.

Safe Electric installation

A Safe Electric registered electrician installs your charger to current I.S. 10101 wiring rules, with appropriate protection, isolation, earthing, and bonding checks.

Up to code, every time

Photos help identify possible electrical upgrades. The installer checks earthing, required bonding, the fuseboard and supply on site. We explain and agree any additional work before it proceeds; defects affecting the charger must be resolved before connection.

Certification on completion

You receive Safe Electric completion certification after installation. SEAI needs it for the grant claim; keep it for your insurer and if you sell.

One price for your selected package

Your selected charger, Standard Installation, all materials, grant paperwork and certification — from €1,599 all-in (from €1,299 after the approved €300 SEAI grant). Each charger and configuration has its own fixed package price.

Aftercare + warranty cover

2-year workmanship warranty plus a 3- to 5-year manufacturer warranty, depending on the charger — and you only ever deal with one team.

What if my home needs more than Standard?

Some Irish homes need additional work before a charger can go in safely — an older fuseboard, unclear earthing or gas/water bonding, an indoor or prepay meter, or ESB Networks having to confirm capacity. In those cases:

  • A Safe Electric electrician inspects on a pre-approval visit and quotes the extras transparently — before you commit to anything.
  • Pricing for any extras follows the Safe Electric electrician's specification and is quoted before you book.
  • We still handle the SEAI grant end-to-end — eligibility check, application, declaration, refund.
  • The contractor checks the existing installation for the new circuit and provides the required Safe Electric certification on completion.

Additional work is agreed before it proceeds. Photos help us assess the scope and price before booking. The installer still checks and tests on site, where further issues can become apparent. The conditional €300 SEAI grant is separate from the cost of additional work.

The SEAI grant in Waterford

Private homes in County Waterford with their own off-street parking can apply for the €300 SEAI EV Home Charger Grant. The charger must be within the property boundary, and each electricity meter (MPRN) can receive the grant once. Volt Éire applies on your behalf once your installation is approved, before you pay, and tracks it through to the refund.
