We are the data controller for the personal data we process. Our supervisory authority is the Data Protection Commission (DPC) of Ireland.

- Property address and Eircode
- MPRN (Meter Point Reference Number) extracted from your electricity bill
- Eligibility answers (property ownership, permissions, off-street parking)
- DCB scheme details (if applicable)
- Photos and videos of your property (fuseboard, meter, electricity bill, installation location)
- Payment information (processed securely through Stripe — we do not store card details)
- Banking details for grant claims (account name, bank name, IBAN, BIC)
Automatically Collected Information
When you visit our website, we automatically collect:
- Device information (browser type, operating system, screen resolution)
- IP address
- Pages visited and interactions (via PostHog analytics, processed in the EU)
- Referring website and landing page URL
- Marketing attribution data (UTM campaign source, medium, and name from the URL you arrived through)
Information from Third Parties
We may receive information from:
- SEAI: Grant application status updates, approval letters, and payment confirmations received via email
- Google (OAuth): Your name and email address if you sign in with Google

- Process your EV charger installation application
- Communicate with you about your order and installation (via email and SMS)
- Apply for SEAI grants on your behalf
- Process SEAI correspondence and update your grant status
- Schedule your installation appointment
- Process payments via Stripe
- Provide customer support
- Analyse website usage and improve our services (via PostHog analytics)
- Measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns (via Google Ads conversion tracking)
- Understand which marketing channels bring visitors to our website (via UTM attribution)
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Information Sharing and Third-Party Services
We share your information with the following parties, each for a specific purpose:
- Installers: Safe Electric certified electricians who perform your installation — they receive your name, contact details, property address, and property media to assess and complete the job
- SEAI: Your name, address, MPRN, and property details to process your grant application and payment claim
- Stripe (payment processor, USA): Payment amount, your name, and email to process card payments securely. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. See Stripe's Privacy Policy
- PostHog (analytics, EU): Page views, user interactions, and a pseudonymous user identifier to help us understand how our website is used. PostHog processes data in the EU (Frankfurt). See PostHog's Privacy Policy
- Google Ads (advertising, USA): Conversion events (e.g. that a signup or purchase occurred) to measure advertising effectiveness. We do not share your name or contact details with Google Ads. See Google's Privacy Policy
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) (advertising, USA): The Meta Pixel tracks page views and conversion events to measure the effectiveness of our ads on Facebook and Instagram. We do not share your name or contact details with Meta. See Meta's Privacy Policy
- Resend (email delivery, USA): Your email address and name to deliver transactional emails (booking confirmations, status updates, magic link sign-ins). See Resend's Privacy Policy
- Supabase (database and authentication, EU): Your account data, application data, and media files are stored securely on Supabase infrastructure in the EU. See Supabase's Privacy Policy
- Vercel (hosting, global/EU): Our website is hosted on Vercel. Vercel processes requests and may log IP addresses. See Vercel's Privacy Policy
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
5. International Data Transfers
Some of our third-party service providers are based outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Where we transfer personal data outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place:
- Stripe, Resend, Google, Meta: USA — transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework
- PostHog, Supabase: Data is processed within the EU
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
- Row-level security on database tables ensuring users can only access their own data
- Role-based access controls for staff
- Secure authentication with email verification and phone OTP
- Private media storage with time-limited signed URLs

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Rectify inaccurate personal data
- Erase your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restrict processing of your personal data
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format

8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected:
- Account data: For the duration of your account, plus 6 years after deletion for legal and tax purposes
- Grant application data: 7 years from grant completion (SEAI audit requirements)
- Payment records: 6 years (Irish tax and accounting requirements)
- Marketing attribution data: 2 years
- Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymised after 2 years
