SEAI Grant Application Process
Volt Éire helps with the SEAI EV Home Charger Grant application and claim. Follow the approval sequence and prepare the required documents for an eligible €300 refund.

You complete the online assessment
Share the requested property details and safe photos of the parking space, electrical equipment locations and proposed cable route. Keep electrical covers and seals in place; tell us when something is inaccessible or not found. Photos help assess scope but do not replace the installer's inspection and testing.

Volt Éire submits the SEAI application
We prepare and submit the application using the details you provide. Review the installation address, MPRN and applicant information, and supply any further information requested. SEAI makes the grant decision.

Wait for the Letter of Offer before expenditure
Obtain SEAI approval before incurring charger or installation expenditure. Check the start date and conditions on the Letter of Offer before work begins. Approval timing varies; submitting an application is not approval.

Agree the scope and complete the installation
After grant approval, approve the assessed scope and pay the approved installation order. We then arrange and confirm the installation date. The standard BENY package is €1,599; other units and agreed additional work have their own prices. The Safe Electric registered contractor inspects, tests and certifies the work. You claim the grant afterwards.

Complete the claim documents and signature
We help prepare the Payment Request Form, Certificate Number 3, Test Record Sheet, invoices and installed-charger photos. Review the claim details, provide the required bank information and complete the customer signature requested by SEAI. The contractor also submits the certificate to Safe Electric.

SEAI reviews the €300 refund claim
SEAI indicates approximately 4–6 weeks for payment processing after it receives all required claim documents. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed payment date. An incomplete or queried claim can take longer.

Complete the work and valid claim within six months
The deadline runs from the start date on your Letter of Offer. SEAI must receive the valid claim and supporting documents within that window. Keep the offer and ask us about any unresolved paperwork before the deadline.
