Our BENY BCP-A2N-P package supports Z-BOX app scheduling and installed dynamic load balancing. We have not established native Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit, Home Assistant or OCPP support for this exact offered unit. Do not buy it on the assumption that another BENY model’s integrations also apply.
What can you control in the Z-BOX app?
The Z-BOX instruction manual explains pairing, charging control, schedules and records. Use the supported app to set the times you want the car to charge. Check the commissioned current limit with the installer rather than changing it to a higher value yourself.
Pairing or local connectivity does not establish an open automation interface. A manufacturer cloud app, Wi-Fi connection and Bluetooth connection are different things from documented third-party integration support.
How should you schedule charging on an EV tariff?
- Confirm the exact tariff name, active dates and cheap-rate window with your electricity supplier.
- Set the charger schedule to those times and check weekday and weekend behaviour.
- Check the car’s own timer and charge limit so they do not prevent the intended session.
- Allow enough charging time for the energy needed; a cheap window may not cover a large top-up.
- Review actual sessions and your bill after setup or a tariff change.
A time schedule can work with a time-based tariff without a live connection to the supplier’s API. It does not automatically follow a dynamic tariff or guarantee the cheapest household bill. Compare current EV plan terms and night-rate calculations.
Does BENY work with Home Assistant or OCPP?
Require written confirmation for the model, regional version and firmware you would receive. The evidence reviewed for our BCP-A2N-P does not establish a supported OCPP or Home Assistant connection. Do not rely on an integration for a different BENY range, an unofficial plug-in or a competitor article as a supported feature of this package.
If home automation is a purchasing requirement, describe the platform and the task before selecting hardware. Ask who supports the connection, what continues to work offline, whether a cloud subscription is required and whether an update can change compatibility.
Does installed load balancing provide solar diversion?
No. Load balancing manages the charger’s demand within the assessed installation limit. Solar-surplus control decides whether and how to use excess PV generation. Scheduling a daytime session may use grid electricity when the panels do not produce enough.
Our offered BENY package does not automatically track solar surplus. For that requirement, compare the commissioned solar features and conditions of Zappi GLO, Wallbox Pulsar Max and the Ohme guidance. A home battery needs its own interaction review.
Which checks belong with the installer?
The contractor checks supply capacity, earthing, bonding, protection, monitoring and the cable route. App automation cannot make an unsuitable circuit safe. Follow ESB Networks’ supply assessment guidance and use the BENY owner guide for supported operation.
If scheduling and a fixed 5 m cable fit your needs, see the current BENY installed package. If you require an external integration, ask about that exact requirement before applying or buying equipment.
